Children shot in mass shooting at concert as one dead and multiple injured

Terrifying reports have confirmed a mass shooting that took place during an outdoor concert at Charles Young Park in Lexington, Kentucky.

Five people were shot in total, and one victim was pronounced dead from their injuries, while four others, including a four-year-old child, a 14-year-old, and two adults, suffered life-threatening injuries.

One eyewitness shared more about how they were just inches away from one of the victims while shielding four young people during the gunfire. Governor Andy Beshear announced the news of the shooting while attending the Kentucky Democratic Party dinner nearby, confirming the initial reports regarding casualties.

Lexington police department officers also responded to reports of gunfire around 6:48 pm while already patrolling the park. Law enforcement is now actively searching for the suspect or suspects, with no arrests or suspect details released yet.
