A former NHS vascular surgeon named Neil Hopper, 50, had been officially struck off the UK medical register following a ruling by the MPTS.
Hopper was notoriously famed for previously freezing his own legs to force their surgical removal and was sentenced in September to 32 months in jail alongside a 10-year sexual harm prevention order.
His convictions stem from insurance fraud and the possession of extreme pornography. To be more specific, he bought videos depicting the clamping and removal of male genitalia from Marius Gustavson, who is a ringleader sentenced for running a body mutilation-related ring.
Reps for the General Medical Council mentioned more about how Hopper was sexually motivated by these extreme body modification videos, as well as his own double amputation.
