The family of slain UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson has finally broken their silence after Luigi Mangione entered a guilty plea in federal court.

On Friday, he pleaded guilty to one count of interstate stalking resulting in death and one count of stalking through the use of interstate facilities, giving rise to death.

Thompson's family was said to be present at the time in the courtroom in NYC yesterday. This is where the verdict was announced before the US District Judge Margaret Garnett.

The family looked very emotional as the plea hearing proceeded, fighting back tears and holding hands with one another.

Their statement mentioned the following: "Today's guilty plea marks a very important step towards justice for Brian and for our family!"
