Chilling text messages emerge between stepmother of cheerleader found dead on cruise ship and her ex-husband: 'Hush hush'

Shocking and disturbing text messages from the stepmom of a teen found dead on a cruise ship have taken center stage amid their custody battle.

Anna Kepner was only 18 when she was found dead on a family cruise. Her body was wrapped in a blanket and covered in life jackets under a bunk in her cabin, which was found by the staff during routine cleaning.

Her death has since been ruled a homicide, and court documents showed the cause of death as mechanical asphyxiation.

An investigation is currently ongoing. But new court documents showed how the 16-year-old's stepbrother was being treated as a suspect at the time, but no charges had been filed yet in the case.

The messages comprised more than 100 pages, and there is proof that the boy's parents tried to hide him from the press and protect their 10-year-old daughter.

according to Florida Today.
