Mountaineer leaves dumped girlfriend to freeze to death on country’s highest peak

An experienced climber has now been caught leaving his struggling lover to freeze to death on top of Austria’s highest mountain, with their fatal trek caught on the webcam.

The 33-year-old female victim was found dead roughly 160 feet from the summit after the pair decided to go on the hike together. The duo is yet to be identified publicly, but it is clear can be seen how the woman struggles and can’t find the will to go any further. Despite seeing and knowing this, her boyfriend continued. 

Terrifying reports are speaking about how tragic webcam pictures turned out to be that show a man leaving his girlfriend’s body on top of a mountain in Austria so she could freeze to death. 

Webcam pictures clearly depict the couple’s headlights on the side of the mountain during their ascent. 

The boyfriend was said to be a more experienced climber, and he allegedly set off to find help but failed to shelter his partner from the wind or wrap her in aluminium rescue blankets to protect her from the cold. 

‘The defendant left his partner unprotected, tired, hypothermic, and disoriented this whole time below the summit cross of the Grossglockner. The woman froze to death, and the boyfriend has now been charged with grossly negligent manslaughter.
