A tragedy involving the death of a five-year-old girl took place a few days ago after a routine tonsil operation.
An inquest heard more about the details regarding Amber Miles, who underwent the procedure at the Royal Cornwall Hospital in Truro to get her tonsils removed and adenoids to assist with her sleep apnea.

Her parents believed she would remain in the hospital overnight after the operation, as she had a cyclical vomiting syndrome. The rare medical situation meant that Amber was not able to take any kind of oral pain relief medications or anti-sickness medication, despite being given them, as she couldn’t stop vomiting.
Sources from local media outlets shared more regarding the tragedy, including how Amber was admitted to the hospital on April 6 but ended up suffering from a fatal hemorrhage that was due to an infection in the part of her throat where her tonsils were removed. Amber passed away tragically four days after she had her routine op when a blood vessel ruptured.

The senior coroner in the case was unable to mention whether Amber’s death could have been avoided if she had remained in the hospital overnight or if she had been given some anti-sickness drugs at an earlier stage of her life.
