Four Dead After Being Hit by Express Train In Mega City

Tragic reports are speaking about the death of four people after being hit by an express city in one of the world's most technologically advanced megacities.

Four railway workers passed away after being struck at the Shin-Kanuma Station on the Tobu Nikko Line in Tochigi Prefecture, north of Tokyo.

At about 10:45 am local time at Shin Kanuma Station, four men in their 50s and 60s were said to be performing track weeding work. This is when they were hit and killed. Three other workers on the site, as well as the train's crew and 50 passengers, remained unharmed.

A Spacia X express train bound for Asakusa, Tokyo, was said to be involved as it approached the platform. Tobu Railway shared that the driver sounded the horn after getting a lookout's flag signal, but officials are now investigating whether the lookout properly alerted the crew on the tracks before signaling. Following the incident, the Tobu Nikko line was partially suspended.
