War Takes New Turn as US unloads military might on Iran after Tehran closes Strait of Hormuz: ‘Now they pay’

It appears that tensions between the US and Iran have now reached a new high.

The news comes after the US chose to carry out an open military operation that it says was in retaliation for Iran's attack on a Cyprus-flagged commercial vessel.

At the same time, the US claims that Tehran has declared it will close the strategic Strait of Hormuz, which is a vital channel for 20% of the world's oil supply. The US rolled out a massive retaliatory airstrike for this reason.

Under the direction of President Trump, America rolled out a heavy bombardment, pounding more than 140 targets late Saturday. The strikes targeted Iran's missile and drone sites as well as different naval assets, ammunition storage facilities, and communication networks.
