US Vice President JD Vance and Second Lady Usha Vance have officially welcomed baby number four together.
The child named Alec Neel Vance was born on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
The news was shared by the couple through a post that was published on social media. This marked a historic milestone as the first baby born to a sitting US Vice President in more than 150 years.
The newborn, named Alec Neel Vance, was born healthy at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He's said to be the first child born to a sitting vice president since Schuyler Colfax, who also welcomed a son in 1870.
The couple was seen extending their deep gratitude to the military doctors and the White House Medical Unit. Alec joins older siblings Ewan, Vivek, and Mirabel. Now, the family will reportedly be spending more time at a leased property in rural northern Virginia to preserve a sense of normalcy for their growing family away from the political limelight.
