A major breakthrough has arrived in the Nancy Guthrie case.
The news comes just in time, as Savannah Guthrie had pleaded to please come forward and shared more details about her mother's sudden and tragic disappearance. But this is not something anyone was expecting.

A 42-year-old California man had recently pleaded guilty in federal court to two counts of harassment while making use of a telecom device. The man went as far as to admit that he wished to send an extortionate number of text messages to the family of Nancy Guthrie.

This includes him demanding a Bitcoin ransom shortly after the family made a very public appeal for her safe return. Authorities were seen clarifying more about why this specific person's demands were a malicious hoax intended to exploit the family's crisis, and they are actively sorting through different sources and other ransom notes to see which one could be legitimate.
