A grandmother is breaking her silence after she claims that she was jailed for nearly six months after the cops in North Dakota mistook her identity for someone else.
The woman goes on to mention how she was accused of being a suspect in a leading bank fraud case that she had nothing to do with, thanks to facial recognition software.
50-year-old Angela Lipps mentioned how she was arrested at her residence by a team of US Marshals in July and booked into country jail as a fugitive from justice from North Dakota.
The fact that she's never been to that state made matters worse for her, and she still cannot believe what she's been through in the past few months.
Speaking ot WDAY News, she further shed light on how she learned that she was arrested on charges that included four counts of unauthorized use of personal identifying information and four counts of theft. Police claim to be investigating a string of bank fraud cases during that time, which involved a suspect who used a fake US Army military ID to withdraw thousands of dollars.
