Florida nurse savagely murdered married ex-co-worker he was having an affair with — after wooing her with birthday rendezvous

A sick nurse from Florida reportedly beat up his married former colleague in a brutal manner, leading to her tragic death after luring her to meet up with him so the two lovers could be romantic for her birthday, sources and court records alleged.

The suspect was identified as 38-year-old Rene Perez, who was arrested in Miami on Tuesday, nearly one and a half years after he allegedly pummeled the married mom named Linda Campitelli. She sustained terrifying injuries to her skull and suffered from rib fractures before she was killed in October 2024.

Perez was booked on charges linked to first-degree murder, deadly weapon, and tampering with evidence charges for the violent beatdown that arose.

As per authorities, both lovers met in 2024 to celebrate Campitelli's birthday. The duo were married at the time and were having an affair for nearly two years after meeting at the Wellington Regional Medical Center, where they both worked.

The day before the alleged rendevous, Linda message spoke about how she was feeling so nervous about their planned get-together. He replied by mentioning that he just wished to show his romantic side to her. But that was not the case. The apartment where he invited her is exactly where he brutally took her life, and then wrapped up her remains in a blanket and hospital sheets.
