‘Help, two people are drowning’ witnesses heard as man & woman feared to ‘have fallen off cliff’ & died at UK surf beach

A tragic incident involving a drowning has taken place recently.

The tragedy arose at a popular surf beach and involved a man in his 60s and a woman in her 30s who were pulled out dead from the water today.

The exact location was identified as Fistral Beach in Newquay, Cornwall. The incident arose during the evening hours as emergency services were seen responding to reports of two people in serious distress.

The pair were believed to be a father and a daughter who were visiting Cornwall during the holiday season. Furthermore, witnesses were seen speaking about how two people were walking near the rocks before falling off the cliffside into the rough, choppy sea. The man was still fully clothed when he was retrieved.

HM Coastguard was alerted at about 9:30 pm, and that's when a massive multi-agency rescue operation was rolled out.
