The news comes after it gained rapid international traction during this year's FIFA World Cup.
The staggering figures are proof that not many were fans of the team that some felt played way too aggressively to try and reach the top. The petition was totally fan-driven and came out on an independent website, carrying no regular authority as per local media outlets.
Sources also shared how it had zero impact on the tournament in general or Argentina's official standing. The petition went on to accuse both FIFA and match officials of blatant referee bias and favoritism towards Captain Lionel Messi and the entire squad from Argentina.
