During the early hours of Sunday morning, a mass shooting incident took place outside Buford's bar in downtown Austin, Texas, leaving three people dead and more than 14 people injured.
Police and emergency responders arrived quickly in the busy nightlife area, which might have prevented even more casualties. Shocking surveillance footage and accounts from witnesses spoke about how the shooting arose outside the bar and spilled onto the streets.

This gave rise to an episode of chaos as patrons and bystanders began to flee for safety and cover amid sounds of loud gunshots.
The suspect was identified as a 53-year-old male naturalized US citizen from Senegal who was killed in a gunfight with responding cops at the scene of the incident. Authorities also shared how a flag of Iran was found in his car, and he is believed to have had a history of mental illness, as per local media outlets.

Evidence collected from his car prompted the FBI to join this investigation, exploring potential terrorism connections.
