The US Men's Hockey Team's visit to the White House was considered to be a very highly anticipated moment for many Americans, as the boys had just made history by winning gold at this year's Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina.
However, people were stunned when viral images from the White House meeting between the President and the boys had people wondering what in the world was going on. After their scheduled meeting and pictures with the president, they were scheduled to be treated to a meal.
While many would have imagined a meal fit for royalty as they were heroes being celebrated at the White House, that was far from the case.
The boys received a McDonald 's-style spread of cheeseburgers and water being offered at the event. Many on social media slammed the food selection as cheap and reckless, while another added that this was beyond insulting as they were seen unwrapping the fast food while dining at the table.

Others felt that the Women's team was better off as they were seen dining at a five-star restaurant to celebrate their honorary win, comprising gourmet meals and wine. Many felt that heroes of the nation needed more respect than a mere cheeseburger and hoped the Trump administration would do better.
