Bryan Kohberger is now seeking to withdraw his guilty plea and reopen his criminal case for the 2022 stabbings of four University of Idaho students.
He claimed that he's innocent and that his past confession was induced by false promises and blatant disinformation.

Kohberger filed a handwritten petition for post-conviction relief in an Idaho court. In a telephone interview with the press, he asserted that he's absolutely innocent and that he levels several allegations against his defense team.
He alleged that his public defenders failed to review or disclose crucial exculpatory evidence before pushing him to accept a deal. He also claimed that his lawyers falsely assured him that he would receive immediate contact visits, freedom of movement, and prison employment.

He stated that his lawyers told him his plea did not need to be truthful despite his vehement denial of actual guilt, pushing him into a false confession.
