Trump goes on blistering attack against Supreme Court justices after tariff ruling: ‘Unpatriotic and disloyal to our Constitution’

President Donald Trump has slammed the US Supreme Court after it decided to rule against key parts of his global tariff regime.

Trump slammed several justices who were involved in making this decision as unpatriotic and disloyal to the nation's constitution. He also boldly declared how he's ashamed of this decision.

The 6-3 ruling by the Court concluded that the president had exceeded his authorities by making use of emergency powers to impose sweeping tariffs on imports without any kind of explicit congressional authorization.

The majority of the opinion was that Congress could only levy taxes and duties, limiting the powers of the president to unilaterally change the country's trade policy.

Trump's tariffs were said to be central to his economic strategy and trade pressure tactics, but this decision struck down most of those levies and put in question the roughly $175 billion already collected.

In reply to that, Trump vowed to press ahead, planning another 10% global tariff under a different trade law that enables limited duties.
