At least 15 people have reportedly died after two adjoining apartment blocks came crashing down in Lebanon's city of Tripoli.
The incident took place in the Bab al-Tabbaneh region, where emergency workers were seen calling the matter a very tragic disaster.
Rescue teams pulled out several survivors, which included young kids, from the fallen rubble.
They continued to climb through debris to see if there were any more survivors still alive. Families who lived inside the buildings were among the two dozen individuals who passed away when the six-story high structures came down all of a sudden.
Public anger has grown over this matter, which was linked to decades of poor maintenance, lax construction oversight, and also crumbling infrastructure in parts of the city.
Many nearby residents fear for their own homes, prompting plans to carry out evacuations of at-risk buildings that were highlighted by the authorities.
