Whoopi Goldberg has strongly pushed back against Elon Musk's criticism of the reported casting of Lupita Nyong'o as Helen of Troy in a recent interview for Christopher Nolan's upcoming movie adaptation of The Odyssey.
The billionaire took to his account on social media to amplify online complaints about her choice, stating how Nolan has lost his integrity for supposedly casting someone different from the traditional fair-skinned, blonde depiction of the mythic character.
This led to major backlash across the board from many who saw his comments as rooted in outdated or exclusionary thinking.
During the famous The View show, Goldberg directly addressed Musk's remarks and defended Nyong'o by reminding audiences how she is widely thought of as one of the world's most beautiful women. She further questioned why Musk felt the need to comment on someone's looks, reminding him to take a look in the mirror.
