The late mob boss John Gotti's reality TV star grandson is now reporting to federal prison after trying to avoid his sentence on fraud charges by saying he was going to donate a kidney to his ailing mother.
The Federal Bureau of Prisons shared on Tuesday that he began his 15-month prison term the previous day at the Federal Correctional Institution Fairton in southern New Jersey.
He was first scheduled to report to jail in July, but the US district court judge delayed that until September 18, stating that it would allow enough time to recover from the surgery, assuming that it took place by August 10.
