Newly Regilded Golden Horse Statues Spark Debate After Trump’s $5M Project

It wouldn't be wrong to mention that Donald Trump and his projects continue to keep getting plenty of attention, whether for the better or the worse.

The US President's latest update has to do with a project in the state capital of Washington, DC, and the new restoration of this project is sparking plenty of unique reactions across the board.

In the middle of April, the National Park Service recently awarded a massive $5 million contract to a studio that was located in Maryland to regild four bronze horse statues on Lincoln Memorial Circle, The Arts of War and the Arts of Peace. This design is in a 23.75 karat gold leaf. Nearly three months later, the updated statues were revealed.

The latest unveiling comes after the president took to his account on Truth Social on Monday to share how scaffolding around these statues was nearly coming down. He included several images, including one that highlighted this newly applied gold leaf.

The shiny and gaudy structure is not getting much love from citizens who feel there must have been a better way to make use of funds than polishing the horses.
