Carnival Cruise Line was forced to issue a public statement recently and remove dining utensils from its service after a viral six-part video series exposed a passenger and their disgusting habits.
The news has irked many passengers and questioned the level of hygeine on such trips that people wait a lifetime to embark upon.
The shocking video showed a passenger making use of a restaurant fork to scratch her bare, peeling foot in a buffet area. The video captured by another fellow passenger and shared through the Instagram account recorded the woman's unsanitary behavior across different parts of the ship.
The event reportedly took place aboard the Carnival Sunrise. In the first clip, the woman aggressively scratches the peeling sole of her bare foot using the same unwashed hand to eat a slice of pizza.
In another clip, she used the metal lines of a communal dining fork to deeply scratch her foot at the dining table. A later clip showed the same passenger continuing to pick at her feet while outdoors on the public ship deck.
After the original poster brought the video evidence to light, an official social media statement was shared addressing the gross cruise moment. "We can confirm that forks are intended for food and not for foot care. Once we became aware of the matter, our team swiftly addressed it with the guest and removed the utensil from the service,"- the statement read.
