Terror at 20,000FT as passenger sucked out of smashed cabin window ‘up to his shoulders’

A haunting mid-air emergency recently unfolded aboard a flight from Green to Germany.

Sources shared how after takeoff, while cruising at about an altitude of 20,000 feet, parts of the Boeing 737's engine broke apart and struck the body of the plane, shattering several different windows of the cabin.

The huge explosion resulted in a decompression where a 61-year-old Serbian passenger sat next to a broken window to be partly sucked out into the slipstream, with his head and shoulders completely out of the plane.

A catastrophe was narrowly averted thanks to the swift actions of his partner and fellow passengers. She quickly pinned him down, and gripped his legs for nearly five minutes. Other passengers and medical personnel were seen rushing to assist in tugging his body back into the safety of the cabin.

Witnesses mentioned how his fastened seatbelt played an important role in stopping him from getting totally lost. The plane then returned to Thessaloniki for an emergency landing. The passenger from Serbia suffered from serious burns and injuries and was hospitalized with three more people.
