The Supreme Court was seen delivering another landmark ruling today regarding trans rights.
This included upholding all state laws that ban trans athletes from taking part in female sports. The shocking 6-3 decision was authored by Justice Brett Kavanaugh, in which the high court ruled against two trans students. They had challenged restrictive laws in both Idaho and West Virginia.

The Supreme Court concluded that these state bans don't violate the 14th Amendment's Equal Protection Clause, which prohibits sex discrimination in the education field. While Kavanaugh did share sympathy for trans athletes, the desire to compete shouldn't impact the rights of other females.

While the decision did directly address the laws in West Virginia and Idaho, it mostly impacted 25 other states with restrictions of a similar kind. The ruling follows a series of high court defeats for trans advocates, including upheld restrictions on youth gender transition treatments as well as on military service.
