The US Supreme Court just delivered a major blow to American President Donald Trump.
In a landmark decision, they struck down Trump's executive order that sought to deny birthright citizenship to kids of immigrants who enter the country illegally, as well as tourists.
The shocking 5-4 ruling in the case of Trump vs Barbara had the majority concluding that the Citizenship Clause seen in the 14th Amendment applied to all those born in the country. This is regardless of whatever status their parents might hold.
Chief Justice John Roberts was the author of the major decision in which he asserted that an amendment to the Constitution would be required, not an executive order, for such a change to take place.
This decision marks the second major defeat for the Trump administration.
