“America Needed Change”- Barack Obama Sheds Light On Whether Or Not the USA Was Ready for Its First Black President

The former US President and First Lady were seen reflecting on race and symbolism.

US President Barack Obama is one of the most loved former US Presidents. He's trained at Harvard and has experience working as a community organizer, and his mother was White, and his father was Kenyan.

Since he's the 44th president of the US, there was no doubt that a historic occasion like this for America and the world is something new and not so ordinary. After all, the US was a country long fraught with racial tension from the lasting pains and stains of slavery as well as segregation.

Obama says he knew from the start that the day he got elected, it would be something great for the USA. It would alter how kids thought about themselves, and people would no longer be limiting themselves to the color of their skin.

"I think that people now believe in the unthinkable. They know that black presidents can get elected, and it's no longer a fad but a reality," he added. "I also believe that we'll soon see a female president, and people will understand that miracles can happen," she continued.
