President Trump has made it clear that he would be instructing officials to carryout an immediate inspection with corrective measures for the Reflecting Pool after it ran into some major problems recently.
This is the second time that this mega structure would be drained in as many months to complete the repairs needed after the grand $14 million renovation project that his administration sought to complete failed.
The huge overhaul was designed to seal, repaint, and even surface the entire basin in a classic shade of blue seen on the American Flag. This was said to be completed before the country's 250th anniversary celebrations arising in July. But after just a few days of the president boasting more about its unique features and color, many problems began to surface.
The paint started to peel off the surface and float in the water, not to mention the massive presence of algae that swiftly turned the color from blue to green. The officials shared how the green was mostly due to dormant supply lines, but at the same time, the inclusion of harsh chemicals is what made the new lining peel off.
