A formal White House ceremony took an unexpectedly bizarre turn when President Trump failed to secure the nation's highest military distinction.
The incident arose as Trump was presenting the Congressional Medal of Honor to retired US Army Major Nicholas Dockery.
After the shocking opening remarks, where Trump quipped that he wanted to give the medal to himself but was informed he was not worthy, he then was seen going to place the high honor medal around Dockery's neck.
But the presentation did not take too long to hit a major roadblock. As cameras rolled, the president was seen spending nearly a minute fumbling with the tiny ribbon clasp.
As the pause continued to linger on, the president pivoted from the mechanics of this fastener entirely. Therefore, he chose to just tie the ribbon around his neck, leaving many stunned.
