The president called it the most spectacular event in history as he stood beaming with a giant smile with his wife, Melania Trump, by his side. Despite the high-octane spectacle costing a whopping $60 million to produce, it still went ahead and served as a great reminder for celebrating the country and its leader.
Trump hailed it as the kickoff for America's 250th anniversary celebrations. The massive outdoor stadium was erected in the lawn and dominated by a massive steel arch lighting grip that overhung the eight-sided Octagon.
The evening opened up with a number of presenters performing with the anthem as the starter for a pack full of entertainment. This was followed by a 12-jet military flyover, prompting the crowd to erupt into a passionate USA chant.
