Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway Placed on Lung Transplant Waiting List, Cancels Future Outings

Crown Princess Mette-Marit of Norway has been put on the national waiting list for a lung transplant.

The Royal House of Norway shared more details about how the 52-year-old would immediately suspend all official duties and future outings for this reason. This latest development follows a crucial and life-threatening progression of her chronic lung condition, which is pulmonary fibrosis.

The princess was first diagnosed in the year 2018 with a rare form of pulmonary fibrosis. This incurable disease turns healthy lung tissue into a form of stiff scar tissue. The process seriously blocks oxygen from entering the blood, sources revealed.

More details shared how an extensive array of tests revealed more about her condition and how it has gotten seriously worse over time. Her lung functionality has dropped to a major extent in the past three months.
