Former First Lady Jill Biden was seen detailing the emotional toll of Hunter Biden's struggles inside her memoir, View from the East Wing.
This is where she admitted to saying the words that her son was a drug addict, which caused her serious pain, and expressed deep regret over not speaking out more about the public health crisis of addiction while she was in the White House.

Inside that book, the former first lady is seen describing how hard it was for her to address her son's addiction, adding how that even now, it's not something that she can mention. She added more about how, in her audiobook interviews, it was so hard to relive the trauma, which she dubbed very painful. "Imagine living through that pain; it was so overwhelming for me,"- she further mentioned.

Mrs. Biden also expressed massive regret for not addressing how serious the matter had become with her loved ones sooner, only stepping in when Hunter's daughters requested help.
