Marco Rubio was caught off guard recently when confronted about racist comments that were made against Indians in the US during his visit to the South Asian nation to reset dwindling ties.
During a joint press conference involving the US Secretary of State in New Delhi, a reporter appeared to have indirectly raised President Trump's endorsement of an American podcaster's remarks describing India as a hellhole.

Trump shared that this hellhole remark was indeed true and therefore reposted it through his account on Truth Social, prompting the government of India to denounce it as inappropriate and done in poor taste.
'We have a lot of racist comments coming from the US against Indians, Indian Americans. This goes against the basic premise of the India-US relationship. 'What's your take on this?'- Mr. Rubio was asked during the press conference after his talks with India's foreign minister.

Rubio asked again who made those comments and which ones. He was puzzled, and the reporter replied that the comments were viral and that they saw an endorsement of them without taking Trump's name.
Rubio replied in a casual and general tone that there were stupid people everywhere. 'I don't know how to address that, but I will take that very seriously!'- he continued.
