Greenland is back on President Trump's radar as his administration deepens America's diplomatic footprint in the world's biggest island.
Trump shared an AI-generated image of himself peering over a mountainous community with a caption in the image that read: 'Hello Greenland!' This comes as America opened up a new consulate and sent a special envoy to the Arctic territory, which is owned by Denmark.
Since returninig back into power, Trump has been promising that he would get Greenland even while natives and other European allies continue to insist that it is not for sale. For the past four months, negotiators from America, Greenland, and Denmark have been working closely to discuss its future in an attempt to diffuse the whole matter, as per the New York Times.
"We probably will not get anything unless I decide to make use of excessive strength and force, where we would be frankly unstoppable! But I won't do that!"- Trump shared.
