The public is coming to Jimmy Kimmel's defense after he was slammed online by the president and first lady.
Trump and his wife, Melania, were both attacked by the late-night talk show host for a joke that Kimmel made on his Thursday show. That night, he did a parody of the upcoming White House Correspondents' Dinner where he pretended to host.

Kimmel joked that Melania had a glow like an expectant widow, and that left both her and Trump fuming.
Kimmel tried to defend himself and refused to apologize, stating that the joke had to do with Trump's age difference with his wife and had nothing to do with the shooting. Despite that, the FCC has now stepped in to target ABC and review licenses, as many fear Kimmel could be fired.

But the public has spoken, and they're not in favor of letting Kimmel go anywhere. A petition has received more than 250,000 signatures to protect Kimmel after Trump's demands to have him fired immediately arose.
