The widow of Charlie Kirk has backed out of appearing at a Turning Point USA event in Athens, GA. This was a visit that was scheduled with US Vice President JD Vance, who mentioned that she was concerned about some serious threats.
37-year-old Kirk received some major threats in her direction, as shared by a spokesperson for Turning Point USA during an interview with Fox News.
Vance also mentioned how he was worried about the whole event as it appeared that it might get canceled due to security reasons. He even spoke to the Secret Service team about this.
"I know that she did get some threats, and about two hours ago I was a little concerned that we're going to have to cancel this event because Erika was not going to come,"- the US VP continued.
Kirk has been leading Turning Point USA as the CEO since her husband's death, who was killed in September of 2025. She did appear with Vance together on stage last year, which led to a lot of controversy, as many felt her show of emotion and embracing Vance was just too intimate for a widow who was grieving.
