The disgraced mayor of Louisiana has been found guilty of having intimacy with her son's teen best friend at a booze filled event, as per reports from local media outlets.
Misty Roberts was found guilty by the jury after her trial reached the end, and a verdict was announced recently. The jury was said to be deliberating for less than an hour, as per the Upper Michigan Source.
43-year-old Roberts was convicted on charges linked to carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile, as per the outlet.
This conviction comes after the boy with whom she had intimacy at the 2024 party testified in front of jurors that he was drunk when the sex crime unfolded, as per the outlet.
Roberts will now need to register as a sex offender. Her sentencing is scheduled for next month.
