The four US servicemen who were killed during the war with Iran have been identified.
With the ongoing conflict between the US and Iran, the Pentagon shared publicly four of the six members killed during an Iranian drone attack on a US military facility in Port Shuaiba, Kuwait, on March 1. The deaths mark the first American combat fatalities of this war.
The identified soldiers were all said to be members of the Army Reserve's 103rd Sustainment Command, based in Des Moines, Iowa. They include Capt Cody A Khork, Sgt Noah L. Tietjens, Sgt Nicole M. Amor, and Sgt. Declan J. Coady.
All four were killed when the Iranian drone aircraft system struck a tactical operations center used by the US forces. Two more servicemen were killed in this same attack, but they had yet to be identified.
At least 18 more US troops were wounded in this strike, and the incident is still under investigation. The deaths come amid a bigger escalation in the Middle East after a US-Israeli military campaign against Iran triggered retaliatory strikes across the region. Officials were seen warning that further American casualties can be expected as the war enters a new, dangerous phase.
