Outrage as Charlie Kirk Banner Hung on Department of Education Building Alongside MLK Jr. and Historic American Figures

The US Department of Education has hung a giant banner of the late MAGA activist Charlie Kirk, and the matter is sparking outrage across the board.

The banner could be found on a building in Washington DC, where his giant picture is put alongside some very famous names in American history.

This includes the likes of Martin Luther King Jr. as part of celebrations linked to America's 250th anniversary. The display aims to highlight 'heroes in American Education', with Kirk pictured alongside leaders like Benjamin Franklin, Booker T. Washington, Anne Sullivan, and Catherine Beecher.

Kirk, who is the co-founder of the conservative group Turning Point USA, was said to be a polarizing figure known for vocally expressing how he felt about higher education, with plenty of criticism across the board. This includes promoting conservative politics amongst youngsters. He was shot and killed during a campus event in the year 2025.

The choice to have him on the official federal building has led to widespread backlash online, with a lot of debate as well. Critics argued that it's not appropriate to honor Kirk in the same manner as other respected names in education, given his lack of formal academic achievements.
