Florida Mom and Son Arrested After Police Uncover Disturbing Family Secret

A Florida mother and her 22-year-old son have been arrested after a domestic-violence investigation allegedly uncovered an incestuous relationship between them, according to authorities.

Polk County deputies were called to the family’s home after Christina Clemens, 46, reported that her son, Shane Clemens, had allegedly assaulted her. During the investigation, Shane reportedly told deputies that he and his mother had been involved in a sexual relationship since he turned 18.

According to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, detectives later asked Christina about her son’s allegation. Authorities say she acknowledged the relationship and told investigators it had happened “about 100 times.” The statement was described by investigators as part of the evidence leading to the incest charges.

The investigation also involved Christina’s husband, who reportedly told deputies that he had not known about the alleged relationship. He did say he had become suspicious because Christina and Shane would sometimes go into a bedroom together and lock the door, according to the sheriff.

Authorities subsequently charged both mother and son with incest. Christina also faces a charge of living in open adultery, while Shane faces an additional domestic-violence battery charge related to the original complaint.

The case began with an allegation of a physical confrontation, but the investigation quickly expanded after the son reportedly disclosed the alleged relationship to deputies. Sheriff Judd publicly condemned the conduct and described it as illegal.

Christina was being held on bond, while Shane remained in custody without bond, according to reports. The exact court status and next proceedings may change as the case moves forward.

The allegations have not been established as facts through a criminal conviction. Both defendants are entitled to due process, and the charges will now proceed through the court system.
