‘American Idol’ Alum Allegedly Told Mistress He’d Sacrifice His 2 Daughters for Her

A former “American Idol” contestant allegedly told his mistress that he would sacrifice his two daughters for her, according to testimony in his ongoing murder trial.

Caleb Kennedy Flynn, who appeared on “American Idol” in 2013, is on trial for the alleged murder of his wife, Carly Flynn. Prosecutors accuse him of killing his wife in 2024, a charge he has denied.

Flynn’s former mistress, Alleigha Botner, testified about her relationship with him and described messages she says he sent while they were involved. According to her testimony, Flynn told her he would give up his relationship with his daughters for her and allegedly said he would “sacrifice” them.

Botner also testified about Flynn’s alleged behavior during their relationship and told jurors about conversations surrounding his marriage. Prosecutors have presented her testimony as part of their case against Flynn.

Flynn and Botner reportedly met through a dating app while Flynn was married. Their relationship continued for a period before Botner eventually ended it, according to testimony.

Flynn became known to television audiences after competing on the 12th season of “American Idol” as a teenager. He later left the competition after making it through several rounds.

The murder case centers on the death of his wife, Carly. Prosecutors allege Flynn killed her, while his defense has disputed the accusations. The trial is continuing, and the jury will ultimately determine whether the prosecution has proven the charges beyond a reasonable doubt.

The allegations described in court are not findings of guilt, and Flynn remains entitled to the presumption of innocence unless convicted.
