Roseanne Barr is firing back at her former TV son Michael Fishman after he publicly defended the cancellation of the “Roseanne” revival.
Fishman, who played D.J. Conner on the original sitcom and its 2018 revival, recently said the show was “rightfully canceled” after Barr’s controversial 2018 tweet about former Barack Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett. ABC canceled the revival shortly after the post sparked widespread backlash.

During an appearance on the “Can’t Be Censored” podcast, Barr was asked about Fishman’s comments and responded with a profanity-filled tirade. She called the actor a “brainwashed bigot” and accused him of not understanding what she had intended by the controversial post.
Barr also recalled Fishman asking her to explain the situation to him. She said she told him to “go f**k yourself” and accused him of having no “geopolitical context” for discussing her comments.
Fishman had addressed the controversy in an Instagram video in August, rejecting claims that the revival was canceled simply because of political correctness. He said comedians can tackle difficult subjects through humor, but in this case, he believed there was no joke and that the show was rightfully canceled.

Barr has continued to defend her original post, saying she was referring to politics and the Iran nuclear deal rather than making a racial statement about Jarrett. Her explanation has remained disputed, while Fishman has continued to criticize the comments.
The latest exchange has reignited a long-running feud between the former onscreen mother and son, years after their sitcom relationship came to an end.
