Rep. Lauren Boebert is pushing back after a new ethics complaint accused her of having sexual relationships with three members of her staff.
The allegations were filed with the House Ethics Committee by political activist David Wheeler. The complaint makes claims involving Boebert and three staffers, including former district director Clarice Navarro Ratzlaff, former chief of staff Jeffrey Small and current chief of staff Raven Finegan.
Boebert has denied the allegations and gave a particularly blunt response when asked about the claims. She said she is not lesbian or bisexual and denied ever having an inappropriate or sexual relationship with anyone who works for her.
Her office also rejected the complaint, calling the allegations false and politically motivated.
Navarro Ratzlaff, who was also named in the complaint, has denied the claims and called them false and defamatory.
The complaint includes claims from anonymous sources and other alleged evidence, but the allegations have not been independently established as fact.
The controversy also includes a claim involving former Rep. Matt Gaetz. Gaetz responded to that allegation by sarcastically calling for the supposed evidence to be released.
For now, Boebert is standing by her denial as attention continues to grow around the ethics complaint.
