A national controversy took center stage after immigration and Customs Enforcement agents detained a five-year-old child named Liam Conejo and his dad, Adrian Conejo, in a suburb in Minneapolis.
The family, who originally came from Ecuador, had entered the US legally and were said to be pursuing asylum when federal agents stopped them on a residential driveway. This is shortly after Liam returned home from preschool.

Images of the young child wearing his bunny hat and Spider-Man bag went viral around the world, with many slamming ICE for arresting a child this young.
It soon became one of America's contentious immigration enforcement policies, raising eyebrows in the Trump administration. A court was forced to intervene, and the judge ruled that the arrest was not legal, ordering their immediate release from the detention center.

Now, it's been confirmed that the Trump administration is looking at ways to swiftly have them deported after their release. The matter has again sparked worldwide criticism across the board.
