Donald Trump shared an AI-generated image of a giant air filter wall along the US Canada border, using the mock illustration to escalate his criticism of Canada's wildfire management.
Shared through his account on Truth Social, the AI-generated pictures depicted a huge barrier labeled as a MERV 16 High Efficiency Particulate Air Filter. A sign accompanying the fictional border wall read: "North America Air Filter Barrier, Clean Air, and Clean Borders."
Media outlets pointed out that the sky appeared completely clear and blue on both sides of the filter, and that was due to an AI generation error. The news comes as Trump blamed Canada for willful negligence in maintaining its forests. He warned that the financial toll of smoke drifting into US cities must be included in tariffs on Canadian imports.
Canada's PM defended the country's wildfire control efforts and vowed that they were doing everything to bring things under control.
