A close friend of Nolan Wells is breaking his silence after his death, recalling details of the incident that took away his best friend for life.
Tracestin Shepherd, who is a close pal of the 18-year-old college football player Nolan Wells, says he lives with regret every single day.
In a series of media interviews, he detailed more about how the tragic events unfolded and how he wishes he forced his friend to get back on the boat instead of listening to him.
Shepherd and another pal maintained that Wells was adamant about staying behind on the island because he had met a young woman and wished to spend more time with her.
The pair opted to head back to the mainland at about 4:30 pm because their boat was having bilge pump issues and taking in water. The fact that he returned without Wells on board is something that he beats himself up for every single day.
He kept insisting that others were screaming and yelling and begging him to come on board, but he just wouldn't listen; now, after everything went down, he wished he had done more to force him.
