The US Department of Justice has shared more details on how it won't be opening up a formal criminal or civil rights investigation into the actions of the ICE agent who shot Renee Nicole Good dead in Minneapolis.
The incident sparked backlash across the US as many felt that the mother of three could have been dealt with in different ways to avoid the brutal killing, where four shots were fired at her.
Many had hopes of the officer named Jonathan Ross being investigated and possibly charged, but that is now no longer a possibility, sources shared.
The DOJ added that the Justice Department does not automatically investigate every use-of-force incident and would only act when it feels it's necessary.
The agent who was involved won't even be subject to a DOJ civil rights inquiry, as the Department of Homeland Security has stated that routine interviews of use-of-force incidents would occur.
