The amounts total to $8 billion and are being labeled as one of the biggest divorce-linked payouts in history to be disclosed.
This huge transfer arose in 2024 and was directed towards her charity, which is designed to support causes linked to women's empowerment, economic mobility, and social equity.
The payment is said to be a part of the bigger financial agreement linked to the pair's divorce after 27 years of marriage. The full details of this massive settlement were never rolled out in public, but filings now show that the overall value of this arrangement could be more than $12 billion in total.
A giant chunk of this wealth is said to have gone to Melinda's other firm, called Pivotal Ventures, that operates with fewer public financial disclosures.
