At Least 6 Dead and Dozens Injured in Wave of Halloween Weekend Shootings Across the U.S.

Halloween weekend was marked by a series of deadly shootings across the United States, leaving at least six people dead and dozens more injured in several cities.

Dallas experienced the deadliest violence. Four people were killed and 15 others injured in three separate shootings in the Deep Ellum nightlife district on Saturday night. The incidents happened within approximately 75 minutes. Police were investigating whether the shootings were connected, and some arrests had been made.

In Birmingham, Alabama, one person was killed and eight others wounded near Legion Field following the Magic City Classic football game. Police said one person was detained for questioning and multiple firearms were recovered.

Another six people were shot near the University of Delaware campus in Newark. All were taken to hospitals, but officials had not released updates on their conditions at the time of the report.

In Bloomington, Illinois, a shooting near Illinois Wesleyan University left a 19-year-old woman dead. Another woman was critically injured, while six other people suffered injuries that were not considered life-threatening. Authorities had not confirmed whether all those injuries were caused by gunfire.

In Fayetteville, Arkansas, six people were hospitalized with gunshot wounds after an early Sunday shooting. Police said an altercation appeared to have taken place before the violence. No arrests had been announced.

The weekend's violence followed two separate fatal shootings at Spirit Halloween stores in California and Michigan on Friday.

Investigations were continuing across the affected communities as authorities worked to establish what triggered the separate incidents and identify those responsible.
