Passengers were furious recently after an airline was left with no choice but to cancel the entire flight after a child standing in their seat refused to secure their seatbelt.
Porter Airlines flight PD444 had left the terminal at Victoria International Airport in Canada and was reportedly heading for the runway when crew members saw a child standing on the seat.
After the plane left the terminal and proceeded to the runway for departure, a young child was standing in the seat and would not secure their seatbelt. Attempts by an accompanying parent and crew to address this matter were declared unsuccessful. The plane could not take off in this unsafe condition, so the crew chose to return to the terminal and have all the passengers leave.
The time that it took to bridge the aircraft, deplane the passengers in question, retrieve their baggage, refile flight plans, and other paperwork meant that it was too late to depart given that the runway shuts at 12:30 am. This meant the flight had to be cancelled.
